Director|Choreographer
Sara Edwards is a New York City-based director and choreographer who has worked on numerous Broadway productions and national tours with Broadway’s top creatives: Barry Manilow’s Harmony, Hugh Jackman in The Music Man, Bette Midler, Bernadette Peters, and David Hyde Pierce in Hello Dolly! (NYC and restaged for tour), After Midnight with Fantasia, Patti LaBelle, and KD Lang (Tony award for best choreography), as well as the Radio City Rockettes Spring Spectacular, New York City Ballet, Tony Awards, PBS Great Performances, Secret Garden at the Ahmanson, The Sting with Harry Connick Jr at Papermill, five NY City Center Encores! productions, and Hugh Jackman’s Arena World Tour. This spring she’ll work on her ninth Broadway show for Roundabout’s production of The Pirates of Penzance.
Her own director and choreographer work has been seen throughout the country, in productions including The Music Man, Anything Goes, White Christmas, Tick Tick Boom!, Grease! and benefit concerts for Bette Midler’s Hulaween and Bernadette Peters' Broadway Barks. She also creates for RWS Global for Azamara International Cruise Lines and the Medora Musical in North Dakota. Next season, Sara is choreographing Ragtime at Goodspeed Opera House and developing two new musicals that will have debuts in 2025 — stay tuned!
As a performer, Sara has appeared on Broadway in She Loves Me, Follies, Chaplin, and White Christmas and in regional theaters across the country, from LaJolla Playhouse to NSMT in Boston. She got her start in Hershey, PA, is a proud graduate of Oklahoma City University, and she and her husband raise two boys on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.
