Sara Edwards is a New York City-based director and choreographer who over the past 10 years has excelled as a collaborator on new works and revivals on Broadway and national tours with Broadway’s top creatives.
Sara is currently in development stage of multiple new musicals. The Broadway bound new musical revue, Let The Good Times Roll: A New Orleans Gumbo conceived by Jack Viertel with music supervised by Sonny Paladino. A journey through New Orleans jazz, exploring how music, community and culture have defined the Big Easy. The mystical Dark Lady, a brand new book written by Mike Sheedy, about a young woman's belief in herself featuring the music made popular by Cher.
Other Broadway credits: Pirates! The Penzance Musical with Jinkx Monsoon and David Hyde Pierce, Barry Manilow’s Harmony, Hugh Jackman in The Music Man, Bette Midler, Bernadette Peters, and David Hyde Pierce in Hello Dolly! (Broadway and restaged for tour), After Midnight with Fantasia, Patti LaBelle, and KD Lang (Tony award for best choreography), as well as creating for the Radio City Rockettes Spring Spectacular, New York City Ballet, Tony Awards, PBS Great Performances, Secret Garden at the Ahmanson, The Sting with Harry Connick Jr at Papermill, five NY City Center Encores! productions, and Hugh Jackman’s Arena World Tour. She has enjoyed many regional spaces as director and choreographer throughout the country, creating productions including Ragtime, Young Frankenstein, The Music Man, Anything Goes, White Christmas, Tick Tick Boom!, Grease!

Sara also creates for RWS Global for Azamara International Cruise Lines and the Medora Musical in North Dakota. Sara loves teaching student and professional workshops and creating one of a kind performances pieces for benefit concerts for Bette Midler’s Hulaween and Bernadette Peters' Broadway Barks.
As a performer, Sara has appeared on Broadway in She Loves Me, Follies, Chaplin, and White Christmas and in regional theaters across the country, from LaJolla Playhouse to North Shore Music Theater in Boston. She got her start in Hershey, PA, is a proud graduate of Oklahoma City University, and she and her wonderful husband raise two lego obsessed boys on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.
